Lake George, with its sparkling water and awesome scenic views, is still impressive to the first time visitor much the way as it must have impressed Father Isaac Jogues in 1642 when he first saw the lake and named it "Lac du Saint Sacrement". Today Lake George is known as one of the premier vacation spots in the Northeast. Many visitors come every year to enjoy the mountains and the sparkling waters of the lake. But it also has plenty to offer the historically minded visitor as well.

The lake, in its present state, was formed by glacier activity thousands of years ago. The lake is fed, primarily, by underground springs and its outlet is located in Ticonderoga. The outlet of Lake George, called the LaChute River, descends through a series of rapids and small falls that empties into Lake Champlain. Whether you're a first time visitor or Lake George has already cast its magic spell on you, Snug Harbor Marina would like to help make your vacation here a memorable one.

Snug Harbor Marina is located on the quietest end of Lake George which is great for our boat renters because there is a lot less boat traffic than you'll find at the southern end of the lake. We offer a full array of marine services which include boat sales, boat rentals, boat winterizing, storage, fiberglass and gel coat repairs, local boat hauling, mechanical repairs. We are a five star Yamaha dealer, Volvo Penta dealer and a Premier dealer for Mercruiser and Mercury outboards as well as being the only Regional Re-Power Center for Mercruiser in the local area. We sell boats by Godfrey Marine and Stringray Boats. We are of the opinion that Stingray offers the best value for your dollar of any boat on the water.

Snug Harbor offers two rental locations on Lake George to serve our customers better. One is here at Snug Harbor Marina in Ticonderoga, the other is Snug Harbor South boat rentals in Silver Bay, former location of Werner's Boat Rentals.
